Trevor Neil
Trevor Neil MSTA MCSI has been a professional trader for more than forty years. His first job from school was as a coffee floor trader on the London Commodities Exchange working for Merril Lynch. He has been a trader working for a number of large institutions since then. He was on the board which established the Society of Technical Analysts. He served for ten years under three chairmen. His career took him into fund management but always as a user of technical analysis. He has managed two large, technically driven hedge funds, He was Global Head of Technical Analysis at Bloomberg for four years (not allowed to trade then) before leaving to run his last big fund. He sold out of that fund in 2006. He currently manages a small algorithmically traded fund and his firm BETA Educators Limited runs courses for institutional clients worldwide. He consults as a market timing adviser to several of these institutions. He is a Director at RRG Research. As well as teaching technical analysis, Trevor is an Accredited Training Provider for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and runs courses for them in Behavioural Finance, Blockchain and Technical Analysis. He has presented the popular Trevor Neils’s Technical Analysis Surgery, a monthly webinar sponsored by Thomson Reuters, for over six years. He has been involved in the world’s only institutional technical analysis awards since they started 10 years ago and is proud to host the annual Technical Analyst Magazine Awards.
