There are many routes to achieve the one objective:
The STA Diploma.
STA Education runs annual CISI accredited Diploma Part 1 and Part 2 courses for both experienced and novice analysts in central London (venue: London School of Economics)*. We also run courses for post-grad students at King’s College London and Queen Mary University London. All teaching is by qualified STA members. The courses are accredited for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
Candidates who have successfully passed both parts of the STA Diploma are eligible to receive the International Federation of Technical Analysts’ (IFTA) Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) accreditation.
The Home Study Course (HSC) allows students who live overseas or too far from London to study for the STA Diploma. The HSC was developed over several years and is the result of extensive collaboration between analysts and system providers around the globe.
The monthly presentations provide additional knowledge and insights to technical analysis.
*Given that there hasn’t been much improvement on the Coronavirus situation and that many employees are not yet in their office full-time, the STA Diploma Part 1 Course and STA Diploma Part 2 Courses will be held online instead of in central London.
The dates remain the same, and students will be able to attend the classes live via Zoom webinar. The lectures will be fully interactive with students being able to ask questions as they would in a classroom. Any students unable to watch live will be able to catch up with a recording post event and email the STA office if any questions. They may also post questions on the STA Student Forum which will be answered by course lecturers.
For the Part 1 and 2 exams, provision has been made for candidates to sit the exam(s) in their own personal space, using Zoom invigilation. The July examinations were successfully held this way, delivering outstanding results for many of the candidates involved.
